Graduate Programs

Our department offers both MSc and PhD degrees in Pharmacology, with options that cater to a range of academic and professional goals.

MSc Programs

Students can choose between two fields of study:

  • Thesis-Based MSc
In this research-focused program, students work closely with one or more graduate faculty members on a specific area of pharmacological research. Alongside core coursework in pharmacological principles and research methods, students complete and defend a research thesis.
  • Course-Based MSc in Applied Clinical Pharmacology
This course-based program combines coursework with hands-on training in academic, industry, healthcare, and government settings. Courses cover both fundamental and applied pharmacology topics, with a strong emphasis on translational research.

PhD Program

PhD students conduct independent, original research under the mentorship of one or more graduate faculty members. The program includes coursework in basic pharmacological principles and research concepts, along with advanced training through additional courses and modules. Students complete a PhD thesis and defend their research at a Final Oral Examination.

Collaborative Specializations

Graduate students may also enhance their studies by enrolling in 1 of 6 Collaborative Specializations. These multidisciplinary programs offer students the opportunity to explore an area of interest that complements their primary field of study.
