We are proud to congratulate Dr. K. Sandy Pang, our colleague at the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at UofT, on being named recipient of the 2020 International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics North American Scientific Achievement Award in Honor of Ron Estabrook!
Dr. Pang is a well known researcher of international acclaim, who has made far-reaching contributions through research and mentorship. Her transformational contributions to the understanding of drug pharmacokinetics have significantly advanced the field of physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling.
Dr. Pang's seminal contributions to pharmacokinetics include experimental work in hepatic clearance concepts, metabolite pharmacokinetics, intestinal drug modeling with the segregated flow model, humanized mouse liver models and the kinetics of 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (calcitriol).
The award recognizes Dr. Pang's vast number of highly cited publications, and the impact of her work on the field as a whole.
