Please join us in congratulating Dean Trevor Young on being named the 2015 recipient of the Colvin Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Mood Disorders Research by the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation (formerly NARSAD). This very prestigious international award is given annually to an outstanding scientist carrying out work on the causes, pathophysiology, treatment, or prevention of affective (mood) disorders. He receives this award in recognition of his research on the molecular basis of bipolar disorder and its treatment.
Dean Young is a Professor in Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology where his lab's research has focused on the processes that lead to long-term changes in brain structure and function in patients with bipolar disorder, and how mood-stabilizing drugs can alter those changes.
Dean Young will be presented with his award at the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation's Annual National Awards Dinner on October 23rd in New York City.
