The Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s deep strength in research was reflected this month in a series of global rankings that places University of Toronto in high standing. The 2021 Times Higher Education subject rankings placed the Temerty Faculty of Medicine 6th in the world for “Clinical & Health”. Ranked 18th overall in the world, the University of Toronto punches above its weight class on metrics of research and citations to our publications, achieving the 90.9th and 94.5th percentiles in those categories, respectively.
Pharmacology & Toxicology research is a strong contributor to this success. According to the National Taiwan University (NTU) Ranking of Scientific Papers, the University of Toronto ranks 5th in the world for Pharmacology & Toxicology for 2020. The NTU ranking analyzes scholarly papers and citations using data from Clarivate Analytics, which is based on the Web of Science. That methodology includes eight indicators related to research productivity, research impact and research excellence.
